The moderately priced folding thermometer exhibited good accuracy but slow response times. It cannot be left in the oven while cooking.
The thermometer has an on/off switch, an F/C switch and a hold switch. The design of the probe hinge prevents the probe from being fully inserted into the food, reducing the effective length to only 3.75″ (98mm). The hinge and the case did not appear to be water resistant. The on/off switch doubles as a backlight trigger which remains on for about five seconds.
The manufacturer’s contact info is in the owner’s manual. There is no explicit warranty stated in the accompanying literature.
The price, construction and response time of this thermometer make it less than competitive in this category, so we don’t recommend this particular unit.
