This inexpensive thermometer has good accuracy and reasonable response time. It cannot be left in the oven while cooking.
The unit samples every 10 seconds in normal mode, but if the ON/FAST button is held down, it will sample every 2 seconds. (The fast mode was used to measure the temperature change rate here.) There is a MAX and MIN capture which can be reset by the user. The auto-off feature must be selected by pressing the OFF button once. When this button is pushed once, the display will show “auto” and the unit will turn off in 6-7 minutes. A second press will turn the thermometer off immediately. I’m not enthusiastic about this feature as it could allow the unit to remain on until the batteries died.
The manufacturer’s contact info is found in the owner’s manual. There is a limited two-year warranty on the product.
We give this thermometer a Bronze rating for good construction, ease of use, accuracy and respectable response time.
