The ThermoWorks RT610B-12 is a relatively inexpensive unit that has a long probe, a wide temperature range and is sealed against moisture. It cannot be left in the oven/grill while cooking.
The on/off switch doubles as a hold button to capture a temperature reading. The other button has a min/max function and is used to change between F and C scales. The thermometer does not have an auto-off feature.

We give this thermometer a Bronze rating for its suitability to task and good construction. While this unit has good accuracy, its response time is a little slow for an instant read.
