The ThermoWorks RT301 Digital Thermometer has high accuracy and moderate response times. It cannot be left in the oven/grill while cooking.
The thermometer has an on/off switch and will shut itself down after about 10 minutes of inactivity. There is a switch to change between F and C scales. There is no hold or min/max feature. The unit is not sealed against water incursion. The display is fairly large, so reading the temperature won’t be a challenge.
The manufacturer’s contact info, including telephone number and website, is found on the instruction sheet. There is no explicit warranty stated, however, this company stands behind its products.
This basic unit comes with a low price, good accuracy and middle-of-the-pack response times. We’ll give it a Bronze rating for meeting expectations but lacking some features we like to see in a food thermometer.
