This inexpensive single-probe remote thermometer has reasonable accuracy and acceptable response times. It lacks a backlight. The user sets the temperature at which he/she wants the alarm to go off. When that temperature is reached, a beeper will sound and the temperature readout will blink. There is a temperature readout on both the transmitter and the receiver. There is no apparent weatherproofing on either unit.
The transmitter and receiver each have a hinged stand on the back to hold the unit upright. The range between the transmitter and receiver is claimed to be 100 feet (30m). Loss of communication between the transmitter and receiver is NOT annunciated. There are no pre-programmed meat/doneness settings, although recommendations are given in the manual.

This bare-bones remote is less than $15 and it performs adequately. It lacks some features found in more expensive units, but does the most important job in an easy to remember, easy to understand manner. Construction is adequate. We give it a Bronze rating for good value.
