The Blameless Cooking EasyBBQ thermometer is a six-channel wireless remote food thermometer that comes with four color-coded probes. It communicates with an Apple or Android app via a Bluetooth connection.
The unit is powered by two supplied AA batteries that the manufacturer claims will last for 200 hours of use. The large display shows the current temperature and the alarm setting of each channel in rotation. There is an orange backlight that can be illuminated by pressing a button on top of the unit. This button also acts as the on/off switch. The temperature scale, Fahrenheit or Celsius, is selected in the app, and the display reflects that choice on its screen.
The smart phone or tablet app displays the current temperature as well as the alarm setting and the timer setting for each channel. The color of the display for a given channel can be chosen to correspond to the colored beads on the thermometer probes. The user can select from a list of meats and doneness or choose a temperature of her own. When the timer for a given channel, if set, counts down to zero, the display on the unit will flash its backlight and emit a beeping tone. The app will also sound an alert tone. The alert tone and the temperature scale are selected in the app.

This thermometer has the features you want to see in a product like this, and it is easy to operate. The manufacturer claims that the probes and their cables are rated to 716ºF (380ºC), higher than most competing products. Accuracy is acceptable if not outstanding, and the price is competitive. We’ll give it a Silver Medal for build quality and performance.
