Pack Your Knives and Go
I often give cooking demonstrations and teach classes, and when I do, I bring my own knives. As they say in the cooking contests on TV, I pack my knives and go. My travel kit is the Messermeister Meridian Elite 5 Knife Set. They are all good quality forged knives reasonably priced. Since knives occasionally get lost or stolen on road trips, I don’t take my best, most expensive knives when I travel. The kit includes a five pocket knife bag, Kullenschliff Santoku 7-inch Chef’s Knife, Kullenschliff 8-inch Flexible Filet Knife, Kullenschliff 10-inch Slicer Round Tip, Spear Point 3.5-inch Paring Knife”, and a Flexible 6-inch Boning Knife. Alas, Messermeister doesn’t make this particular set anymore. You can still buy these knives separately from the company, but if you’re looking for a basic knife roll with a similar mix of knives, the Messermeister Meridian Elite 10-piece student set makes a great choice.
